-Dr. Michael Noble is a Medical Microbiologist and a Professor Emeritus with University of British Columbia in Vancouver BC Canada with a long interest in laboratory quality and education. In 1983 developed the Clinical Laboratory Proficiency Testing (CMPT) to address Quality needs in medical laboratories in British Columbia. CMPT provides programs and services across Canada and internationally for clinical laboratories as well water testing laboratories. In 2003 he started the UBC Certificate Course in Laboratory Quality Management, and the UBC course in Proficiency Testing (EQA). While currently retired he continues to be active in assisting countries develop their own in-country EQA programs in Microbiology. Currently he is the Chair of the ASQ Healthcare Quality and Improvement Committee (HQIP).
