Scott Buell left his corporate job in the summer of 2020 to launch Drone Legends, a research-backed, STEM-certified curriculum using what he calls “the magic of drones” to set kids up with life skills, challenge their critical thinking skills, and systematically develop their problem-solving abilities. Drone Legends is part of the Dynamic Learning Experiences family of brands. Today, Drone Legends is in nearly 100 US schools, plus has operations in Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Julie Furst-Bowe is currently serving as the Academic Vice President at Arkansas Tech University. She has been involved in STEM education for more than 20 years and previously held faculty and senior leadership positions at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Southern Illinois University. She has also been an ASQ member for more than 20 years and has held multiple leadership positions in ASQ’s Education Division. She is an ASQ Fellow and was a co-editor of Advancing the STEM Agenda: Quality Improvement Supports STEM, a book that was the recipient of ASQ’s Golden Quill Award.
Lou Ann Lathrop holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Electrical Engineering. She is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and an ASQ Fellow. Lou Ann has been working at Stellantis/FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) for over 12 years and has held positions in Powertrain Engineering, Powertrain Quality, Supplier Operations Program manager and currently as SQE in Interiors. Prior, she worked at General Motors for 26 years holding positions in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, and Powertrain Engineering. She is the current ASQ Automotive Division Chair and previously served on the ASQ Board of Directors for 6.5 years. In the quality arena, she has published and presented numerous articles and papers. In addition, she has been a small business owner since age 25. Lou Ann also has been a volunteer for various Human Services Collaborative groups such as Eviction Diversion, Aging and SUD Workgroup.
