Description: Digital transformation attracts funding because companies are anxious to capture competitive advantage through new technologies like IoT, AI, and ML. But because excitement runs ahead of results, between 70-90% of digital transformation initiatives to date have failed. Although Industry 4.0 only emerged as a theme over the past decade, digital transformation started in the early 1970s, when PLCs were first introduced to industrial environments. Stories of digital transformation in each decade that span the boundaries between business models, quality management, software, and systems reveal actionable patterns we can use to dominate with digital - even as we anticipate new innovations like NFTs, DAOs, web3, and the metaverse. In this session, you'll learn how to lead in the emerging discipline of digital quality and find out what's really being transformed.

Description: As Future Focused leaders, we’re always thinking about a Strategic Direction that directly ties to how we create and build Culture. Building a culture that creates a sustainable workforce and business growth, however, starts and ends with cultivating purpose. Although a trending discussion among leadership circles in today’s landscape, cultivating purpose is vastly misunderstood in both its potential lasting impact and deep-rooted activities. Cultivating purpose within your organization and among your leaders is a critical foundation to create for any business looking to grow. This presentation discusses the core components of cultivating purpose to contribute to your bottom line, across three layers: Behavior, Culture, and Accountability. We will explore the different attributes and impact of traditional leadership compared with purpose-based leadership and how we can employ effective approaches to cultivating culture.

Description: Ikigai is a Japanese Concept meaning “a reason for being”. This is derived by posing the questions of what a person loves, what the world needs, what the person is good at, and what they can be paid for. Through these intersections, the passion, mission, vocational, and professional aspects can be determined. Using a similar lens, Innovation can be refined as the intersection of similar drivers (i.e. User Satisfaction and Delight, Awareness and Knowledge, Transactional Benefits, and Technological Advancement). By elaborating on the intersections of these drivers, a pathway toward an integrated series of innovations can be developed that addresses and improves upon the status quo from multiple perspectives. This will be demonstrated with examples from product development and service provision.
