Quality College Virtual Monthly Dinner Meetings
Abstract
Covid is causing the RU blues with the cancellation of our dinner meetings. In response the section will be hosting a Quality College Virtual Dinner Meeting Series so we can get together virtually to share quality information, network, get section announcements, and help repair our RU backlog. The format will be the usual dinner meeting format except it will be virtual. The Education Chair will provide a “Dinner Meeting” presentation and Technical Clinic on various quality subjects each month.

Instructor Bio
Jim Lawrence is the Education Chair for the Akron-Canton Section. Jim spent over twenty years at the Nuclear Equipment Division of Babcock & Wilcox, B&W, in the design and manufacture of naval nuclear components for the U.S. Naval Reactors Program. Jim finished his thirty plus year career at B&W in the Fossil Power Division as an Operational Excellence Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt where Jim executed numerous major Lean Six Sigma projects. Jim also conducted Yellow, Green and Black Belt training. In addition to B&W certification as a Master Black Belt, Jim is a Kent State certified Master Black Belt, a Juran Institute certified Black Belt, an ASQ Black Belt, and has an ASQ Quality Engineer certification. Jim is presently retired and teaches Quality Assurance part-time in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology department at the University of Akron.
