Started by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in 1984, National Quality Month came to be a joint resolution by Congress and a proclamation by President Ronald Reagan. In 1989, Congress and President George Bush reaffirmed the original legislation and recognized quality as a national priority.

Together, ASQ and ASQE are honored to lead the annual World Quality Month celebration to showcase the vital role of quality professionals in achieving excellence through quality and the positive impact that quality makes in our organizations and communities around the world.
