A.C. Rosander Service Quality Scholarship

The ASQ Service Quality Division (SQD) offers an annual scholarship for any eligible member, or family member of the Service Quality Division, or an individual sponsored by an eligible SQD member.  Please refer to the attached file for the application form, and further details about this year's scholarship.  When submitting, please don't forget to include your 3 to 5-page essay.

How Digital is Altering Customer Engagement

The pandemic has forced the service industry, like many others, to change the ways we engage with customers.  Many companies within the services sector, who have been lucky enough to stay in business, look very different now than before the pandemic.  While some companies were already engaging with their customers digitally, many others have been forced to move into this new reality.  Some have been successful, and sadly some have not.

The Scholarship Committee would like you to consider a service organization, preferably one you’re very familiar with, as it pertains customer engagement.  Provide an analysis of the company’s customer engagement practices, including recommendations for leveraging digital engagement.  Some elements you may want to consider include:

• What have they done well/not done well?

• What customer touch points exist?

• How does this compare to their competition or a similar organization in a different industry?

• How did the pandemic impact them?

• How could they build or enhance their digital approach to customer engagement?

Perhaps you will analyze a company you use whose services you admire.  Perhaps you will choose to write about a service provider you think is lacking.  Or maybe you will choose to tell us about a service you provide through your job or as a volunteer.  Examples of any of these are welcome so long as it is a service you have received or have provided in your own experience. 

Additional Information: 

The number of scholarships and the amount awarded will be determined each year by the Scholarship Committee through a review of the submissions.  To be eligible, each applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the upcoming year and must submit a completed application by the posted deadline. 

The updated Scholarship application for the 2022-2023 school year has been posted to the MyASQ Service Quality Division website.  Applications will be accepted between now and April 30, 2022.
