I work for the Max Group in India that has interests in Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Healthcare, Senior Living and Specialty Films. My role of to drive the Excellence journey across the 5 companies of the Group. As part of that journey we implement the Baldrige process, Lean-Six Sigma, Juran's Problem Solving methodology, Best Practices management, and so on...all adding up to what we call the Max Quality System

This seems like an enormous task. What is the scope? Meaning, how many employees (approximately) and what is the geographical spread?

It is enormous. I wish my boss understood that.
70,000 employees across our 5 companies, spread across the vast country - India (which in my view is like 4 different countries surely culturally.

Right! How many language groups are represented? How do you manage communication?

Fortunately, not too many. English is the business language, typically. At times, Hindi (the national language) and at lesser times in a south Indian language.
That said, if communication campaigns have to be run across various states in India, some of them are translated by the local office in the local languages - Over 10 for sure
