Title: Demographic Trends and their Impact on Quality and Innovation.
Abstract: This presentation will describe how demographic trends are being used by quality organizations as scenarios to envision future demands and identify key strategic opportunities. By assessing these scenarios in their strategic planning process, quality organizations are increasing their innovation strength and competitiveness.
Biography: Alberto specializes in the use of demographic and leadership models applied to innovation and quality. He is currently building a global consulting and research firm that will offer innovation and quality programs aimed at keeping organizations aligned with emerging and future global demands. Its services will also include innovation advice to education institutions expanding their global activities. He has been Deputy Director of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Region 2 New York, and past Chair of the ASQ Binghamton Section. He has chaired numerous quality international conferences in Latin America, represented ASQ in international events, and participated as guest speaker at several conferences in the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, México, Perú, and Russia. Alberto is recipient of the Lancaster Medal (2008), the prestigious ASQ international quality award, for his contribution to the promotion of quality values, dedication to education and training of quality professionals, and exchange of quality knowledge worldwide. On two occasions, he has received the Paul A. Robert Award, granted by ASQ Binghamton Section, in recognition for his leading role in promoting quality locally and internationally. Alberto worked until last year as Director of International Education at SUNY Broome Community College. As part of his responsibilities, Alberto managed international development programs on quality and leadership, and served as consultant in the implementation of training programs for social and business development He initiated and has been chairing, over the past ten years, international training programs on quality, innovation, and leadership for business leaders, educators, and students from Latin American organizations and universities at the SUNY Global Center in New York City
