ASQ Phoenix Section'S Strategy Map and BSC
I am Section Chair for the ASQ Phoenix Section. Beginning with the development of our 2020 Business Plan & Budget last November, I guided the Section through the development and deployment of our Strategic Plan, including revisiting our mission & vision, documenting & prioritization of our strategic intents. We constructed an X-Matrix and Bowler Scorecard, which we review every month during our Exec Comm meeting. Several key strategies for 2020 are a Member Experience Survey, a detailed market analysis of our membership, and development of our QMS. A key outcome of our QMS initiative is the development of our strategy map and BSC. This activity has identified the need to develop a few missing Key Performance Indicators. We are currently in the process of defining key metrics and process owners.

Well done, Bob. Good to hear from you. It has been a while since we worked on the Board committees together. Our Section 1509 used much the same Hoshin Kanri and KPI process some years ago. You are right, it works well. The Section received the highest PAR recognition that year using a similar process you describe in your comment. I recommend it for other section leadership.
