Rules for Switching Certification Bodies

Can anyone advise, how much is the notice period an organization has to give to the existing certification body if org is planning to switch to another CB within the three year certification cycle. Next audit is 2nd Surveillance Audit and responses given for the three minor non-conformance raised in the 1st surveillance audit have been accepted by the exiting CB. CB has only got to verify the effectiveness in the upcoming surveillance audit.

I believe it is more of contractual matter and a strategy decision for your company. Review the contract. It also depends if the new certification body will transfer your certification and the requirements for it. Or if your are starting from cero with the new CB.

You should also consider the certification status in front of your customers. As soon as you resign from one CB your certificate looses validity. You should plan this with the new CB, I believe.
Hi Adeel,
I have done this in the past a couple of times and have found the detail to be within the contract with the registrar so I believe it will depend on what they have set up. For us, I believe it was 30 day notice.
Best,
